COT Goes 100% UV
UV printing is a process by which specially formulated inks and coatings are instantly cured with the use of ultraviolet light energy.
Greener • Safer • Faster
UV and the Environment
UV printing has evolved into a very dependable and environmentally sound process. UV inks are considered to be environmentally friendly because they do not generate VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) solvent emissions. For example in the USA some conventional sheet fed inks, even soy and vegetable based inks, are classified as having VOC's and are subject to legislative control and restrictions.
UV Inks and UV printed products are not considered corrosive, explosive, flammable or toxic to human health. Waste inks and coatings can be land-filled and printed waste material can be recycled.
UV - Low Migration for Food Packaging
UV cured printing can be described as a "best practice process" for the food industry because the inks are completely dry where the sheets reach the delivery of the press - 100% solids, 0% VOC, unlike conventional inks that dry by absorption (penetration from the ink or coating into the substrate) and oxidation. Conventional inks also create an opportunity for the reverse side of the sheet to become contaminated by the wet sheet that it rests on top of in the delivery pile at the press.
UV Builds Your Brand
The competition for attracting attention to your printed product is intense - whether it is a magazine on a display shelf, a brochure on an activities desk or a packaged product in a store. By combining Uv inks and coatings you can create eye catching high gloss, ultra clear, wet look finishes that cover the entire sheet or only highlight selected areas.

UV Efficient
Instantly cured sheets means faster job
completion especially on short runs that
have to print on both sides. Once printed
the sheets can immediately be cut, folded,
die cut and even glued.
Closed Loop Color
Colour consistency standards are easily met with our state-of-the-art ink measuring and control systems on press. They help control, monitor and document adherence to the established press standards, all with high precision, speed and accuracy. The end result is the best possible colour saturation bringing your print pieces to life.
